    A trusted Mindanao brand

Headquartered in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, with our commissary in Barangay San Jose, Lovers Lane, and branches serving communities across Mindanao.

Before Homemade Marinated Chicken (HMC) became a trusted household name, there was Andot's Lechon Manok — the humble beginning of a father's dream and a family's extraordinary journey. Established in 2008 in front of the public wet market in Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur, Andot's Lechon Manok became the owner's first successful venture. More than a source of income, it was the family's bread and butter, an answered prayer, and the first proof that hard work and faith could transform dreams into reality.

The business was named after the owner's third child, Andrei, lovingly called "Andot" by the family. As the youngest among the three children at the time, he brought immeasurable joy into their lives and became the inspiration behind a name that would eventually earn the trust and loyalty of countless customers. For years, Andot's Lechon Manok flourished and established itself as a respected local brand.

Yet, as with many entrepreneurial journeys, success was not permanent. Financial hardships forced the business to close its doors — an outcome every entrepreneur fears. For many, it would have marked the end of a dream. For the owner, however, it became the beginning of a greater purpose.

Refusing to surrender to failure, he relied on his knowledge, discipline, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to provide a better future for his children. With limited resources, he ventured into the distribution of dressed chicken, determined to rebuild what had been lost.

Without enough capital to purchase a refrigerated delivery vehicle, he transformed the family's orange Bongo truck into a makeshift insulated transport unit. He constructed a rectangular plywood enclosure over the truck bed, lined it with insulation foam, spread a blue tarpaulin across the floor, and surrounded the cargo with blocks of ice to preserve the freshness of the chicken during transport. While others saw an unconventional vehicle, he saw opportunity. Every journey the truck made became a symbol of resilience, ingenuity, and the relentless determination of a father who refused to let circumstances dictate his future.

The years that followed tested him in every possible way. As a dressed chicken distributor, he endured financial losses, broken expectations, disappointments, and repeated failures. Yet he remained steadfast, drawing strength from the simple principle that guided his life: "No pain, no gain." Every setback became another lesson, every failure another stepping stone toward the future he envisioned for his family.

When that venture also came to a heartbreaking end, he was left with little more than the modest savings he had accumulated over two years of hard work. To many, it appeared to be yet another defeat. Some questioned his decisions, while others openly doubted his ability to recover. But the owner refused to allow failure to define his story. He understood that challenges are not roadblocks — they are opportunities to begin again with greater wisdom and stronger resolve.

Determined to rise once more, he returned to the business he knew best: rotisserie chicken.

One quiet evening, with only a small amount of capital remaining on the table, he sat holding a notebook and a pencil borrowed from one of his children. Under the dim light, he tirelessly wrote, erased, and rewrote possible business names. He initially considered naming the business after his fourth or fifth child — Harley Miguel Cosido or Hevency M. Cosido. Yet his love for his children was equal, and he could not bear the thought of making any of them feel less cherished than the others.

Weeks of reflection eventually led him to a profound realization. The true inspiration behind the business was never just one child — it was the entire family and the journey they had endured together.

Where it all began — the Cosido family behind HMC
The world sees our success today, but this is where it began — with exhausted hands, faithful hearts, and a family that never gave up.

Every chicken was prepared at home, marinated not only with carefully selected ingredients but also with love, sacrifice, hope, and the unwavering determination of a father who refused to let hardship steal his family's future. From that realization emerged the name Homemade Marinated Chicken (HMC) — a name that represents far more than a product. It embodies resilience, perseverance, faith, and the unbreakable bond of family.

The road to success was far from easy. HMC faced numerous obstacles that nearly forced it to close its doors. Rising costs, operational challenges, and financial uncertainty continually threatened the business's survival. Yet every obstacle strengthened the owner's resolve. With the unwavering support and sacrifices of his children, he persevered through every storm, refusing to allow another dream to disappear.

Today, Homemade Marinated Chicken (HMC) stands as living proof that perseverance can overcome adversity. From its humble beginnings in a family kitchen, HMC has grown into a trusted local brand headquartered in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, with its commissary located in Barangay San Jose, Lovers Lane, and several branches serving communities across Mindanao.

More than a successful rotisserie business, HMC is a legacy of courage, resilience, faith, and unconditional love. It reminds every aspiring entrepreneur that failure is never the end of the journey — it is often the foundation upon which greater success is built. Behind every serving of HMC is a father's promise kept, a family's sacrifices honored, and an enduring testament that when determination is fueled by love, even the greatest setbacks can become the beginning of something extraordinary.

Company background

Built on the grill, taken on the road

Homemade Marinated Chicken (HMC) offers a convenient, high-quality, and affordable meal. Cooked on traditional charcoal-grilling techniques, HMC delivers a signature golden-brown, deeply smoky flavor on the outside while maintaining maximum juiciness on the inside.

To capture growing demand and reach a wider audience, HMC upgraded its grilling operations into a custom-built motorcycle cart unit. This mobile business model allowed HMC to bring fresh, hot, flame-grilled chicken directly to high-traffic events, including local fiestas, tabo, and night markets.
